Sports and Recreation
The I CAN Sports Series is designed to help children on the spectrum gain confidence and skills in a environment which fosters respect and understanding. Our core programs include I CAN Play Soccer (child on the spectrum & sibling), I CAN Swim and I CAN skate. Programs are offered year round at various locations throughout BC, programs available include: skating, swimming, soccer, horseback riding, and gymnastics. Social and Vocational
Social programs include the We CAN Be Friends program, which seeks to encourage friendship, empathy and inclusion among children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their peers. We Can Be Friends is offered at 35 elementary schools across BC.
This past spring we offered Soup for the Soul, a vocational training program that allows young adults with ASD training in a kitchen, and learning how to make various soup recipes that have been compiled from well known chefs from Vancouver.
Family Adventures
The Family Adventure Series is designed to provide access to community events and attractions in a secure environment that supports family engagement. Programs are offered throughout the year and provide opportunities for the whole family to come and enjoy a fun adventure. These programs include family camps, golf tournaments, movie nights, GM Place tours, holiday skates, Van Deusen Gardens, and the Ghost Train at Stanley Park.
