Sports and Recreation
The I CAN Sports Series is designed to help children on the spectrum gain confidence and skills in a environment which fosters respect and understanding. CAN’s core programs include I CAN Play Soccer (child on the spectrum & sibling), I CAN Swim and I CAN skate. Programs are offered year round at various locations throughout BC and include skating, swimming and soccer. Programs that are currently available are listed on the site.
Social and Vocational
Social programs include the We CAN Be Friends program, which seeks to encourage friendship, empathy and inclusion among children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their peers. We Can Be Friends is offered at 35 elementary schools across BC.
This past spring CAN offered Soup from the Soul, a vocational training program that allows young adults with ASD to gain skills working in a kitchen while making various soups from recipes donates by well known Vancouver chefs.
Family Adventures
The Family Adventure Series is designed to provide access to community events and attractions in a secure environment that supports family engagement. Programs are offered throughout the year and provide opportunities for the whole family to come and enjoy a fun adventure. These programs include family camps, golf tournaments, movie nights, GM Place tours, holiday skates, trips to Van Dusen Gardens, and rides on the Ghost Train at Stanley Park.
